This makeover features a model’s photo shoot for the 2012 Andrea Iyamah fall fashion collection. This was a very fun look to create because the model was very easy to work with and the creative director knew exactly what look she wanted. She wanted a very bold look using a neutral palette.
Creating a bold look using neutral colors can be tricky if the makeup artist doesn’t know where and how to draw emphasis. To achieve this look, the model’s features where heavily defined using contours and highlights.
The eyebrows where also filled in to add 50% more strength because bigger brows certainly call for attention. The eyeshadow colors were kept neutral with creams, golds and browns and long full false lashes were added to draw attention to the eyes.
A trick to keeping the eyeshadow neural while still drawing emphasis is to make sure all the colors are blended well. Use a soft fluffy brush to achieve this.
The model’s lips where kept neutral using the same airbrush foundation shade as her skin-tone from Camouflage Makeup Art . Her cupid’s bow was highlighted using a white gold shimmering baked powder, also from Camouflage makeup Art.
This is a good look for magazine photo shoots, ad campaigns or a glamorous night out
